Caring for our community
Summit Express Medical Supply is an integral part of the local community. We are a proud sponsor of the EWAF New York Warriors as well as the Brookhaven wheelchair softball, basketball, bowling, and handcycling teams. While living a life free from UTI’s is something we aim to offer each one of our customers, we also want to help encourage a more active lifestyle to those within the disabled community. We help our sponsored teams get the resources and materials they need to promote confidence, independence, and a healthy, active lifestyle.
In addition to the local sports teams we support, we are also regular contributors to the Spina Bifida Resource Network, Helen Hayes Hospital, Multiple Sclerosis Society of Long Island and the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
Spina Bifida Resource Network
The Spina Bifida Resource Network (SBRN) aims to provide those who are affected by Spina Bifida with specialized services to improve their quality of life. Various programs in the fields of education, networking, and training exist to assist those in need. The SBRN also serves as a voice on legislative affairs making sure its members’ needs are met.
Helen Hayes Hospital
Helen Hayes Hospital is a world-class provider specializing in medical, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care to people who have suffered a stroke or a traumatic brain/spinal cord injury as well as those with neurological, cardiopulmonary and orthopedic disorders. It is a leading center of innovation and rehabilitation working to help patients achieve the maximum recovery possible. A wide majority of patients return home after their discharge due to the fantastic treatment they received while at Helen Hayes Hospital.
Multiple Sclerosis Society of Long Island
The MS Society Long Island chapter serves approximately 42,000 individuals across the island. Donated money is used for medical research as well as a variety of programs and services designed to better the lives of those with multiple sclerosis.
The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation
Founded by the late Superman actor Christopher Reeve and his wife Dana, this organization seeks to offer information, services, and programs to improve the quality of life of those who suffer from paralysis as well as the lives of their loved ones. While the foundation raises funds for this purpose, it also funds research into treating and curing paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries and other neurological disorders.
